the effects of climate change on animals, people and the planet Join us on the streets of London to demand that our government takes urgent and radical action to deal with the climate crisis. Event organisers demand the following:

  • NO 3rd runway at Heathrow & an end to the runaway growth in aviation
  • NO new coal-fired power stations, no expansion in coal burning for power
  • NO to agro-fuels that accelerate deforestation & are causing a world food crisis
  • YES to massive investment in renewable energy, energy efficiency & low carbon transport
The National Demo in London will be one of over 70 demonstrations on climate taking place all around the world on the same day, midway through the UN Climate Talks in Poznan, Poland.

This Global Day of Action has become an annual event. Over 10,000 people are expected to march in London, simultaneous with hundreds of thousands more at events across the globe. There will be a sea of homemade banners/placards, samba bands, dancers, hundreds of cyclists and many people in imaginative costumes. The most magnificent aspect of the day is that such a wide cross section of society and groups will take part. There`ll be everyone from young children & families to students & OAP`s. Groups represented will include Greenpeace, Oxfam, Wildlife Trusts, Islamic Relief, trade unionists, RSPB, Ramblers Association, CAFOD, Friends of the Earth, Womens Institute, Christian Aid, People & Planet etc, all coming together to tackle the biggest issue threatening the planet.

Assemble 12 noon at Speaker`s Corner, Hyde Park (Marble Arch Tube)
