Choose green living for a bright future!

Are you into recycling?? Energy conservation?? Clean green living?? The annual Redditch Green Fair promotes all this and lots more.

The Redditch Green Fair is about making the world a better place, a chance for anyone concerned about the environment to learn how to lead a greener, more sustainable life. Don`t panic, we don`t want to turn you into a hippy!! We can all make a real difference to the future of the planet by making simple changes to our daily lives - incl cutting down on waste, changing to a renewable energy supplier and buying green/fair trade products etc. But you don`t have to wait for the green fair to start living more eco-friendly - take a look at our Links page for lots of ways you can start to `go green` right now!!

As awareness of green issues grows, so too does the Redditch Green Fair. The first green fair in 2006 was fairly small, but in 2007, it snowballed to more than twice the size! The 2008 fair was the biggest and best yet! Watch this space for news of the Redditch Green Fair 2009! Stay bang up to date with news of the green fair and other local events via our Myspace and Facebook pages, where you can also get to know likeminded `eco-friendly` people in Redditch.

St Stephens Church The Redditch Green Fair is held in the heart of Redditch Town Centre, in and around St Stephens Church, providing easy access to all. If you`re not from Redditch, the church can be found at the top of Unicorn Hill, less than 5 minutes walk from the train/bus stations. Click Here for a map of the town centre. If the only way you can get to the fair is in a car, you can find other people to travel with you via Lift Share or Freewheelers.Freewheelers

World Environment Day

United Nations Environment ProgrammeWe try to stage the Redditch Green Fair as near as possible to World Environment Day, a global day of awareness raising held annually on 5th June. Established by the United Nations and celebrated every year since 1972, WED has become the most globally recognised date in the `green` calendar. The WED slogan for 2008 was Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy. Recognising that climate change is becoming the defining issue of our era, UNEP asked countries, companies and communities to focus on greenhouse gas emissions and how to reduce them.

Organisers of the Event

RAG animated logo The Redditch Green Fair is made possible thanks to the combined efforts of various local green groups, who originally joined forces to stage the 2006 Fair, under the banner of Redditch Green Alliance. Since then, the groups involved have continued to work together on various issues and have changed our name to Redditch Alliance of Greens(RAG). The alliance comprises local environmental, ethical and social justice groups, all working towards a more sustainable town and planet.
